 The Tolerance and Pluralism Promotion Center (short name – Tolerance Center) is a non-governmental organization, founded at 16 November 2001.
Mission________
The Tolerance and Pluralism Promotion Center (short name – Tolerance Center) is a non-governmental organization with mission to promote in the Moldovan society, the concept of tolerance and principles of tolerance, according to the Declaration on Principles of Tolerance of UNESCO from 16 of November 1995, as norm and main condition for the respect of human rights, democracy, respect for diversity and the pluralism of ideas.

Past projects________
- Project: Women Rights Video Project, funded by Mama Cash (Netherlands).
- Project: Creation and maintenance in the Internet of resources on the topic “Tolerance among teenagers and the youth”, funded by IREX through IATP.
- Project: Ensuring the access of disabled people to the social infrastructure, funded by the Swiss Division for Development and Cooperation (DDC).
- Project: “Tolerance – active attitude in the support of human rights”, partially funded by Soros-Moldova Foundation.
- Project: “Tolerance and the culture of peace”, common project of the Tolerance Center and National Radio, Department for Youth. The program “Tolerance and the culture of peace”, dedicated to the youth, is broadcast four times per week.
- Project: „A few minutes of tolerance”, common project of the Tolerance Center and Radio “Health” (Edinet district). Daily broadcasts in the promotion of the principles of co-existence based on tolerance in different society environments.
- Project: “Activities aimed at facilitating the access to information of disabled people”, funded by the US Embassy to Moldova.
- Project: “Transfer of knowledge for local public organizations”, funded by Jean Jaures Foundation (France).
Most important achievements_______
- Producing a documentary film and 2 TV ads focused on the women’s right violations issue in Moldova;
- Developing 60 video workshops in the framework of action “Ambulant Cinema of Women’s Rights”;
- Preparing 120 young rural girls as “Promoters of Women’s Rights”;
- Producing about 500 daily radio programs for the promotion of principles of tolerance towards the children, women, handicapped people, old people etc;
- Shooting and broadcasting on Euro TV channel of the documentary “The Right to Live”;
- Construction in 16 Moldovan towns of 115 access platforms for people with locomotors handicap, immobilized in wheelchairs;
- Arrangement of 101 special parking spots for disabled people in 15 towns in the country.
- Conduction of an important sociologic and an opinion survey among the young generation from Republic of Moldova;
- Publication of the guide “Protection of disabled people. Legal acts with commentaries”;
- Publication of a practical guide „Helping vulnerable people”;
- Publication of a collection of documents „The Age of Intolerance”;
- Organization and development of about 40 Round Tables, 4 seminars and 3 conferences in view of promoting tolerance and changing the stereotypes existing in the society regarding the problems of the representatives of various social groups.
